Information taken from The Rosstat Agency and UNISEF
- Today in Russia's orphanages over 80% of the children fall 2 or more years behind in school by the age of 12.
- Those who fall behind never graduate from high school or are put on a "special needs" track where 9 years of education are only equivalent to 5 years at the normal level.
- Children in psycho-neurological orphanages are routinely deprived of any sort of education.
In Moscow 10% disappear in the first year after leaving the orphanage, over 50% spend time in prison.

Every day we receive telephone calls from orphanage directors, teachers and other NGOs who hear of our programmes, but our ability to respond is limited by the amount of funds we raise.
